2025 KY AHEAD Student Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
- Current enrollment in a Kentucky Postsecondary Institution and anticipated enrollment during the award period of the 2025-2026 academic year
- Registration for a minimum of six (6) credit hours per term/semester
- Undergraduate or Graduate student
- Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- Must be a student with a disability, as verified by Disability Services office at the applicant's current postsecondary institution

Criteria on which the Scholarship Selection Committee will base their decision:
- Well articulated goals
- Academic achievement
- Disability-related leadership and service

Application Requirements:
- Completed Application
- Completed Verification of Eligibility Form
- Personal statement - In a typed essay of no more than 3 pages, respond to the following topics:
- Give an overview of your educational pursuits and goals. If you have aspirations for future academic study or for a specific career, discuss your plans.
- Describe your formal and informal experience including work, community and/or student activities, and leadership positions. Highlight your disability-related service and leadership activities.
- Letter of Recommendation
- Transcript(s) of all postsecondary grades

Application Deadline:
- All application materials must be received by the Scholarship Selection Committee by April 25, 2025. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Notification:
- Scholarship applicants will be notified of their award status by May 14, 2025. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded.

2025 KY AHEAD Conference Scholarship
KY AHEAD is going to provide scholarships for two deserving staff persons who would like to attend the conference this year. Recipients of the scholarships will be selected by the Scholarship Committee and must attend the entire conference.

Eligibility Requirements:
- One scholarship will be awarded to a newer staff person who works with students with disabilities. Any staff person who has been a disability-related professional for less than 3 years will qualify for this scholarship.
- Another scholarship will be awarded to any staff person who would not otherwise be able to attend the conference due to financial need. In these economic times of budget cuts and tightening spending, this scholarship will allow a staff person to attend who otherwise could not make it.

- What aspects of the conference would you find most beneficial and why?
- Describe your connection with KY AHEAD and/or its members and your desire to attend the conference.
- If you are new to KY AHEAD, why do you want to get involved?
- What are you hoping to take away from the conference experience?
