Scholarships

2024 KY AHEAD Student Scholarship

  1. Eligibility Requirements:

    • Current enrollment in a Kentucky Postsecondary Institution and anticipated enrollment during the award period of the 2024-2025 academic year
    • Registration for a minimum of six (6) credit hours per quarter/semester
    • Undergraduate or Graduate student
    • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
    • Must be a student with a disability, as verified by Disability Support Services Officer at the applicant's current postsecondary institution

  2. Criteria on which the Scholarship Selection Committee will base their decision:

    • Well articulated goals
    • Academic achievement
    • Disability-related leadership and service

    • Scholarship applicants will be notified of their award status by April 19, 2024. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded.

2024 KY AHEAD Conference Scholarship

KY AHEAD is going to provide scholarships for two deserving staff persons who would like to attend the conference this year. Recipients of the scholarships will be selected by the Scholarship Committee and must attend the entire conference.

  1. Eligibility Requirements:

    • One scholarship will be awarded to a newer staff person who works with students with disabilities. Any staff person who has been a disability-related professional for less than 3 years will qualify for this scholarship.
    • Another scholarship will be awarded to any staff person who would not otherwise be able to attend the conference due to financial need. In these economic times of budget cuts and tightening spending, this scholarship will allow a staff person to attend who otherwise could not make it.
